Look for the Helpers

There is a famous quote from Mr. Rogers (Fred Rogers), "When I was a boy and I would see something scary on the news, my mother would say to me, ' Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.' "

If you are a friend or a family member of someone who is navigating autism parenting, you may feel like there's nothing you can do for them. Be a helper. Believe me when i tell you that no parent is expecting you to be an instant Autism expert. We just want support.

It can be as easy as sending a text asking how they're doing,or bringing over a coffee or snack. Autism parenting can be very overwhelming, and we are always "looking for the helpers."
